We know how hard it is to get an accurate idea of size and fit when buying shoes online for the first time, hence we offer a 'No Quibble' refund policy so you can try on our beautiful shoes, in your own time, at home.

European sizing is the most accurate system to follow.

We do not stock half sizes.

In general for half sizes we recommend you size down for slingbacks, and size up for ballet pumps and flats. For boots and court shoes please check the guidance in the product descriptions.

Note: We stock a small range of Peter Kaiser and Högl shoes and boots. These brands use an alternative UK sizing system and are fairly generous fitting. Please follow your EUROPEAN size when ordering these brands, or ring us if you are unsure which size to select.

OUR BRAND DIRECTOR'S PERSONAL PICK

Everybody needs a pair of 'go-to' black velvet flat shoes, for dinners, dancing and dressing up generally and these have a little bit of extra magic sparkle and panache!

This much-loved flat Mandarina style is smarter than a ballerina pump or a loafer. Relaxed and comfortable to wear, but also dressy, elegant and flattering with a shaped upper and tapered toe. Not too pointy and bunion friendly.

Handmade from sumptuous black velvet with a twinkly button trim (NOT removable) and a decadent red brocade signature lining, these lovely flat shoes look equally fabulous on or off (except you won't want to take them off!).

Average to generous fit. Size down for half sizes. 1cm flat heel, hard-wearing leather-look sole. These velvet shoes are suitable for outdoor and indoor wear. Reasonably weather-resistant.

Our founder Caroline's feet are pictured - she wears size UK7/Euro 40.
